Using RSS is an interesting way of getting information. The three ways that you can add a RSS feed are by either clicking the orange symbol at the top of the screen where you type the URL, being on google reader and typing the URL of the website into the add a subscription box and if the website has RSS set up it will work, or by clicking a button somewhere on the website that will say something like subscribe, syndicate, or feed or something along those lines.
People might consider RSS better then actually visiting websites because it gives you all the information in one spot. Instead of having to search through websites it is all waiting there for you. It is also useful because you know if there have been updates instead of looking around at websites and find that nothings changed. A disadvantage is that its not nearly as visually appealing as most websites are. The way it is presented, while efficient, is very boring. I don't think that I would start using RSS anytime soon. I don't look at that many sites that offer it on a regular basis and I don't mind looking through different websites. However, I do think that it is a great idea and that for anybody who looks at a lot of different websites every day that it could be very useful. I think having a web-based aggregator might be better then a software based one because you don't have to download anything onto your computer and risk getting a virus. Also, getting the information requires you to have internet so there is no advantage to having a program on your computer.
